what all is envolved with going solid lifter?

Default what all is envolved with going solid lifter?

hi,
I know this sounds like a dumb question I did a search and didnt come up with all the info that I was wanting. What kind of springs are there that you use, what are the normal specs on the cam, and what kind of lifters and pushrods do you use?

what is the cost on all the components?

is it still something that is streetable? or is it basically out of the question for driving it around?

also is it something that would live on a stock short block??

I'm pretty sure they make more than one solid roller cam. When you pick one, you ask the manufacturer what springs and whatnot to use with it. Then you price that parts list.

Spring selection and cam selection will of course vary by application / intended use...

The regular maintenance will be a little more involved than with a similar hydraulic setup, but with today's technology it's really minimal. There are a few "gotcha's" you'll need to be aware of with a solid cam, but if you do your homework and pick the right components you'll be OK.

Your best bet would be to get with the vendor of your choice and go over your options and the in's / out's and go from there.

I love my solid roller setup (daily driver).........makes gobs of HP and sounds so very (NOTHING sounds as cool as a solid roller setup)......


my setup is:

Futral 244/249, 0.644"/0.644" lift, 112LSA cam
Isky solid lifters
7.000" pushrods
Comp (T&D) shaft mount 1.7:1 ratio rockers
Isky dual springs (200lb closed/440lb open)
Ti retainers
0.080" lash caps


again....solid roller =
