Default New best tonight...

but not too much of an improvement. This past May, I went 13.176 @ 106.78 with: 2.25" - 2.5" stepped ORY, MAFT, MAF ends, cut out, 3.42's, lid, free mods, ported TB. Tonight my best was 13.113 @ 108.73 with the above mods plus: LT's & 3" ORY, ASP pulley, LCA's, & LS6 intake. My 4L60E acts like it's banging the rev limiter on the 1-2 shifts, but it occours at 5500 RPM, my 2-3 shift arrives at 5800-5900 and has no problems at all.

My best MPH tonight was 109.09 on a 13.124 pass. On my first pass, I went 13.229 @ 107.37, then I unplugged the MAFT and the car picked up some. The MPH was definately up afterwards.

Thoughts? Insults? Suggestions?

EDIT: I swapped back to stock MAF ends w/ screen after the LT's, LS6 intake, etc. I was hoping the ported ends were causing my 1-2 shift problems, but it hasn't gotten any better. I'm considering trying a set of unported ends w/ the screen removed next time.

Nice improvement. How long has it been since the tranny was freshened?

63,500 miles, bone stock tranny. I think I have it narrowed down to a broken 1-2 shift accumulator piston in the valve body. They are plastic, thanks GM.

I'm kinda miffed... I picked up 2.31 MPH, and only .063 in the 1/4. The DA was -5 this time, 1400+ when I ran it last time. My 60' was .033 slower... shouldn't be too much of an impact.

In a way, I want to just fix the tranny and throw on some stickier tires - then run it again. But, I have a SY3500 and HAL QA1's w/ drag springs sitting out in the shop. I have a feeling next time I go - the tranny will be fixed, the verter will be in, the QA1's will be installed, & I'll be on a set of 26X10 ET Streets. I'm hoping that will net me 12.2 - 12.3 @ 111-112 MPH.

Derek - bet on it. Still have that rivalry going w/ my buddy and his ZZ4 powered 91' RS. Maybe G'ville will be more forgiving than OSW? I'll make sure my BMR DS loop is installed before I go.

yeah, I'd do that considering tech has gotten a little tougher (at least from what I've seen). Bring it up!
