What about a TCI version of a SY3500?
Like everyone else, I like the pricing of TCI converters.
I'm looking for a street-only converter. I like the higher RPM of the 3500 converters and shift extension. Like others, I think the Yank SY3500 with either 3.23 or 3.73 gears is a great street-only converter due to the soft STR -- it makes launching on street tires very easy.
So, why not get TCI to build a SSF3500 with a 1.7 - 1.8 STR. They say they will and it's about $550 vs $950.
Any reason not to go this route?

No real reason I can think of. Kevin is great to work with and TCI verters are proven at the track and on the street. I think that verter would kick butt for a daily driver.
If you have TCI custom build you that verter then postup after and let us know how you like it.

I noticed that you had dropped the SY3500 from your line and couldn't for the life of me understand why. Now I know.
I must have gotten one of the last of them. The label shows a build date of 8/2004.
beaSSt: For $775, I'd snag the real McCoy!
