Unhappy Curb rash help needed

I have chrome plated rims. One has noticeable curb rash I know I have to sand it smooth then... what? I don't have the money replace the rim right now, and I don't want the chrome to start flaking. So... what do I do. Thanks in advance for your help.

Let me get this straight... If you have curb rash on chrome plated wheels, there's nothing in the aftermarket for repair. Instead, I'm left to buying a new wheel, right? Since, having it professionally repaired is gonna cost as much as a new one anyway.

The repair may not cost as mush as a new, one. But there is no way to "patch" chrome. Now if it was a painted or polished wheel, there are band aides that can be done at home.
