raced a type r integra with 75 shot
i was out driving my dads car (1999 z-28 camaro) because mine is in the shop(2000 trans am ws-6) i was on my was home from my girlfriends house and i see a car comeing up in my rear view mirror, he did the ricer flyby and i could see that it was a yellow integra type r, he pulled up beside me and asked me if i wanted to race i ofcoarse could not wuss out against a ricer,my dads car has headers, full exhaust, full ram air,and a t rex v-2 cam with thunder racing stage 2 heads,it also has the vavles and springs needed to support the cam,we caught a red light and when it turned green we were off i launched realy low so i could catch teh road and through second i still spun he out launched me but after i short shifted into 3rd i caught up and passed him with ease,he pulled over in hardees and we talked all he had was a header full exhaust cold air and a zex nitrous kit,its amazing how fast some ricers are with minimal mods,,ill still stick to my v-8s though.....there is nothing like tourqe

I raced an integra type R coupe, he was 1car behind, i was in 4th @ 50mph when i heard his car reving so i went wot he shot past me as if i was standing still,he pulled 2cars infront and it wasn't till i reached my redline at 5800 (standed till mid Jan) that i halted his pull and reeled him back in, in 5th and only then could i push him "as the country road went back to 1 lane" to let him know i was quicker. NOSSSSSSS he would have eaten me alive, but after new mods who knows. As GOST-TA is saying, mine will still have standed heads and i think it should still have the goods to kill a NOS type R.
But did he do the fly by or did he pull along side, one or the other ?

A Basically stock LS1 should be able to pull on a sprayed Integra Type R. Type R's run 15's in stock form and with a 75 shot he'd be at low 14's MAYBE high high 13's at best, so it's no surpise that you passed him up with ease with your mods . Mods like headers, intake, and exhaust don't do much for Honda's B-series motors (I believe the Type R is a b18c5 motor), maybe 10 -15 fwhp at best.
BTW there is no such thing as an Integra Type R coupe...they're all hatchbacks
Either Way..NICE KILL!

I have the priveledge of living about 2 miles from Ground Zero Motorsports. The Owner Ralph is the uncle of a good friend of mine and boy does he build some wicked 4 cylinder honda's. we're talkin 600 fwhp Civics using b-series motors . haha 10 second civics is extremely common around here! he's buildin some sweet k20 and h22a motors right now as well.
I've never in my life seen a bone stock Integra Type R or GSR run a low 14 second (we're talking full weight completely stock from the factory).... in fact i haven't seen one get lower than 15's stock.... maybe the drivers around here suck? I'm in Portland, OR and the elevation isn't high here either....

I bought my LS1 because I could get a great foundation to build on for less money. ($10,000 for a 2000 Formula) It runs great in stock form and when modded is awesome. Not to bash imports, but in my opinion it takes more money for the foundation (the car) and then the mods to get it as fast as an LS1. By the time you reach the power of a modded LS1 you have spent some serious dough. You can make anything fast but I don't have that kind of money.

Rice to me is all show, and no go. Thingls like a CO2 purge, cobra eyes, neon, etc. that's rice to me. If you got beat by an import, I wouldn't call it "rice."
I can respect a fast import, but I still don't like them much. It's not that they are imported as much as it is the culture that surrounds them. Take a look at the newest import mag. It's pityful.
