Camaro Versus Grand Prix GTP
So what do you guys think, 94 Camaro (my dream car) I told him this and he said there is no way that it would beat his car, and I'm pretty close to getting my dream car, his GTP has 240HP stock and 280ft/lbs stock, he has some mods, heres a link to his Car Domain page with his mods http://www.cardomain.com/id/copgtp, I think a stock LT1 would take him but I'm not sure, what do you guys think?

That's major work on his car. Look at the motor work alone. I'd say he's probably running mid/high 12s. Of course he's going to take a stock lt1. All you need is 150 hp shot of nitrous and you can take him, lol. Make sure you get it tuned also for the juice. Depending on gears, you could probably run low/mid 12s with that much juice on good tires of course. Possibly lower if you have 3.73 or 4.10 gears.

Ok so most of you say would lose but what if I had cat-back exhaust and a cold air intake and maybe some headers or throttle body, then would I take him, the man is a real dick, thinks he has the absolute best car in the world that no one will ever beat him, and I want to prove him wrong

Well those mods would help you out....but with all that money I would just buy a nitrous kit and have no doubt about beating him silly. Just jet it for 150 and have all the safety equipment, window switch etc.

I had looke at his mods and he has almost everything a young kid here has. This kid was running 8.8x's at our 1/8th track. A stock LT1 will run 9.2's. He had bet a guy in a 94 TA $50 bucks. The guy sprayed a 100 dry shot (hidden) and ran a 8.5....dusted his ***!!!. Go to cold fusion and pick up a wet system for under 500 and but his *** with a 150 shot. Make sure you also run a window switch 3k & 5800 pills) for safety. If he tries the "OH You juiced on me (Waaa-waaa) tell him to run watchya brung. Oh, and make sure you bet him some $$ so you can pay off your N2O kit.

so what most of you are saying is to run a 100 or 150 shot of nitrous and i will take him, but now my question is, is that safe to run or will that ruin trans, engine or something, because i use to have a grand prix i asked people if i could run nitrous and they said absolutely not, unless i had trans work, but i guess the 4l60e is stronger than the stock GP trans

As said above and in many other threads, but since you're new, LT1's love the juice. the Tranny will hold up for a while, depending on how beat it is now. That is if it's an A4, if it's an M6, well....it'll hold a whole lot. If I were you, yank out the spare tire and junk, hide the bottle in there, then do your best to hide the lines and noids. If it's a dry shot, it's easy, wet kit, pretty hard to do, but doable. you don't want to run any dry shot bigger than 100, but the 150 wet will be fine for one run, then you can do more mods afterwards, i.e. MSD box/coil, better fuel pump, full exh, CAI, LT4 knock module, etc. Since it seems you are new to this stuff, if you do get the N2O kit, DO NOT allow yourself get addicted to the squeeze. I do, on every car I put it on cause it's sSOOO much fun.

I ran a 13.9 with a filer and a pulley when I first got my GTP, I then did catback and downpipe and rockers, my times dropped to a 13.55..... yes they can be fast enough to beat a stock lt1. I maybe had 1500 bucks in the car to run 13.55 without nitrous of course.....

lt1 with a cai, mas, free bie mods and a tuner can run low 13s all day, not mid 13s.
Hell, it could run a low/mid 13s with just a set of ET or nitto tires; possibly 12s with all the above.
