i was thinking about getting a qtp cutout in my exhaust system to make it a little louder and maybe pick up a few extra hp. stock exhaust except for the corsa catback, which sounds good but not quite loud enough all the time. want to keep it quiet but have the option to make it louder. you guys think its worth the few hundred bucks for the sound of stock without a muffler?

Yep, do it man. You'll love your QTEC. I had one, they're great. Put it on the i-pipe just aft the passenger seat.

hell yea.. the QTEC cutout was one of my 1st mods.. my car only had a lid and a QTEC for a while its was cool just to go stock quiet to fairly loud with that little switch

DEFINITELY a worthy mod. Some people might not believe this but a cut out CAN free up up to 20rwhp in some cases (usually less...and I am talking with stock cat back) even on a basic bolt on car.
And the convenience/freedom of the QTP electric cut out is just awesome:
See a cop? Bamm, close it up quick and no one is the wiser.
Got a pesky little Honda/Toyota next to you at a stoplight? Reach over to a convenient yet somewhat hidden toggle switch and voila, instant horsepower/torque (and some extra thunder to scare the little riceboy back to the minor leagues.
Coming home late at night to constantly complaining neighbors? Problem solved.
