MTI Y1 cam, what springs?

MTI Y1 cam, what springs?
I am thinking about getting MTI's new Y1 cam. Currently in my heads I have the comp 987 dual springs, They are good to just over 600 lift as I remember and I wanted to make sure they would work ok with this cam?
I also have a set of REV duals, and I am hoping that one of these sets of springs will work with the cam, so I dont have to buy new ones.
anyone know? I called MTI and all they told me was get a spring that the lift was OK on and Id be fine. Not quite the answer I was looking for

I'll have to look up the specs on the 987's as I don't have them handy. You could also consider the Patriot Golds... You just want enough spring so you're not worrying about coil bind,, and that have enough pressure to keep everything under control.
What is the rest of your valve train going to consist of rocker arm wise, etc...

Look at MTI`s Web page. There heads use a high performance dual spring. I`ve had no problems with mine so far! My heads are MTI`s S2 heads they where making in 02. They didn`t have all the choices they do now. Good Luck!

i went to bowling green and met brian(i think it was) from TEA he said the way that these springs are setup you can run 630 lift....just what he told me
my heads had 3K miles on them with a 588 lift cam when i bought the
i ran them with a 224 581 112 comp xer grind(hard on springs) for probably 9K miles
swapped to a F13 cam 230 232 595 585 113 ran that for probably 6K miles
ran to 6800 on the dyno multiple times never once floated on me graphs were smooth
just be sure to use stock rockers these springs dont seem to like aftermarket rockers
FYI i just pulled mine off approx 2 weeks ago, all springs, seats, and dampners looked good, when i popped the retainers off it looked like the spring dug into the retainer a good bit, but i guess thats to be expected after almost 20K miles on them....if yours are low miles give em a try, if they have over 10K, just go ahead and get you a new set of springs
Im now running PRC duals, which are supposed to be good to 660 lift, my graph is still nice and smooth and just made 446 rwhp with them and my mild cam
