Default Gear Drive

Has anyone ever heard of installing a gear drive on an LS1?? A friend of mine told me that if i did that it would whine like a supercharger but then another friend told me yea that will be cool, but having gears instead of a timing chain will cause the knock sensor throw a code bc the gears arent as quiet as the timing chain setup. Any ideas????????????????

stay away from gear drives, they are known for wearing out front cam bearing. Besides why would you want your car to sound supercharged and not have the boost to back it up? If you are looking for a nice timing chain set up look into a belt drive or a Rollmaster true roller
