Am I the only one who lost power leaning out A/F??
I've been reading a lot of threads on tuning, and most say that the ideal A/F ratio is around 13/1. My A/F ratio is about that until I get to around 5000rpms, when I get considerably richer until I reach around 12.3/1 at 6 grand. When we tried leaning the car out over 5,000 or so, the car continuously lost power on successive pulls until we richened it back up. Once we put the gas back in it, the power came back.
I'm just curious if I'm the only one that has encountered this scenario or not, because I have yet to read of anyone else in the same boat.
TIA

very common, every car is different. I have seen cars make max power at 12.8:1 as opposed to 13.0:1 I have also seen cars make peak power at 13.8:1 my personal car happens to be one of them, but I still put it at ~12.7 before I send the car out to the street. it could also be very possible the extra fuel is curbing detonation. and the timing advance goes back up.
