What is the deck height of the LS1?

9.235 - 9.245 is the tolerance range per GM.

Anyone know if a short deck height block is planned to be made (for racing purposes). Something around 8-8.5"

Hey in regards to your question about deck height on a LS1!
The deck height is offically 9.240"~anything that is in the LS1 family,such as 5.3,6.0 and ls1 and C5R is that deck height! We know for a fact that GM has no plans at all to ever come out with a shorter deck height block~like the medium deck bowtie blocks you see in comp.We have been trying to get GM to come out with a cast iron version of a LS1 block,but that probly will not happen.Hope that helps you out!
