Default Cleaning polished hand tools

What's the best way to clean polished hand tools? Do you just wipe them with a rag? Are there any special cleaners I should use? I'm mainly interested in cleaning of ratchets and wrenches.
Thanks.

Fast Orange has towlettes that pop up out of a can, they work great for cleaning oil and grease off your hands, but the best part is they work great for getting packed in grease and dirt out of a boxed end wrench. Give it a try.
