im looking into motorplates,i know he has a front plate, but curious as to what everyone is doing about a midplate. do you have 1? if not, what trans mount are you running? do you have any other brace?

i'm pretty sure Madman has a mid-plate. in fact, i'm about 98% positive when i spoke to him about a month ago just getting some info on them for. i also know that APE sells them both.

You can run a motorplate with or with out a midplate. On the real high hp stuff I recommend one. It takes more fabrication for the midplate to be able to work around the headers.

Brian,so if you dont run a midplate, does the transmount support the back1/2 of the combo?

maybe im just thick skulled, but i think there should be something in the middle.

Thanks

If you just run a motorplate yes the trans mount supports the back half. Either way you will need travel limiters to stop fore and aft movement. I have been 9.20s without a midplate. The best way is to run a midplate though.

Hey Brian...

I have a BMR Tubular K-member.. and there is no way to remove the motor mounts braces like on a stock K-member. I was thinking about keeping my setup the way it is using the motor mounts on the side of the block + the tranny mount etc and adding the front motor plate. Having these 3 mounting points, would you still recommend the mid plate?

I have a feeling im leaving some rwtq on the table by not using a motor plate in my setup. Would be nice also to get rid of my vacuum pump bracket and mount my pump to the plate.

Brian, thanks for the help. I just overthought it in mixed up head.

Guess i'll be placing an order fairly soon for the front plate.
