Default How to identify titanium retainers??

I bought a pair of Felber big uglies off ebay that were slightly used. They were advertised as having Patriot gold dual springs and titanium retainers. How do I tell if the retainers are titanium? Posting pics in a few min.

No, the retainers are not magnetic. Do the springs look like patriot golds?

The PRC duals and Patriot Gold's are both that color I believe. Both are good springs.

Looks like the real deal as far as springs... How used are the springs though... im not too keep on reusing springs cause you dont know what abuse theyve already seen. Iv also heard that springs develop a memory based on lift, but that could just be hearsay, i dont know if there's any truth to that. That aside, how do those heads look. How are the ports? Some of the big-uglies posts were pretty interesting. If youve got some handy, id love to see more pics!

Thanks,
-T

I recognize those keepers, so it is a Super 7 setup.

ok, ill post some pics. I hope to get the heads flowed if it isnt too expensive. The guy that previously owned the heads said they have seen maybe 100 miles and a dyno run. I think he switched to patriots since the heads were shipped in a patriot box.

Ok, here are some pics. I am not sure how much the exhaust side were worked since there is some carbon on them. I guess I should clean them up a bit and post more pics.

Or, you can put them under a grinder. Ti lets off HUGE amounts of very bright sparks. Steel sparks are usually orange-yellow while Ti sparks are a bright white, and there are a ton of them.
