Default Missing/Hesitation in 6th 98 Z28...

I am having a missing/hesitation problem in 6th gear under 50% + load. I dont seem to have this problem in any other gear and only under heavy load starting at a low RPM. The car has 62 k miles and to my knowledge the pulgs and wires have never been replaced.

I had a coil replaced but that did not stop the problem. Any others with the same issue??

Do you have a descreened MAF? Miss hesitation at 1800-2000rpms? I was having the same problem with my descreened 85mm LS6 MAF until I got some good info about turing the MAF so the wires instead of horizontal are directly vertical. This allows airflow to hit the elements better and I have had no problems for over 6 months. HTH

The MAF is stock. Still has the screen. Good advise though. When I put the Lid on this week I'll take a more careful look at the MAF.

This started to happen to me when I had a double valve spring failure.

With that many miles I'm willing to bet $20 bucks that your plugs and wires are to blame. My older had the exact problem in 6th. Only had 4?,000 miles and it turned out being the plug wires.
