Default Brown Crud on Paint

A few months back, I must have driven through some crud and now it is inside the wheel wells and on the outside quarterpanel. I've tried everything to get this stuff off. (clay bar, rubbing compound, even tried some dilluted gasoline. It wont budge. It's like a tan colored adhesive type substance. Reminds me of the goop you use to adhere vinyl flooring. As a last ditch effort before I take it in to have it stripped and repainted, I figured I would ask here and see if some of the detailers have any ideas. Thanks all.
