Default Will this cam clear stock heads?

A friend of mine says he has a stock bottom end ls1 with stock heads, i then asked him the spec on the cam and he said they were 240/248 .611/.618 on a 112 LSA. Im almost 100% sure they wont clear stock heads so i think he has aftermarket heads. Im wonder what your guyss opinions are on if that cam will clear stock heads?

Edit:he is basically saying he doesnt have a 383 stroked motor, i am saying he still has it. he gave me the specs on him cam and i think it wont clear stock bottom end with stock heads, now if he still has the 383 in the car then i think it would be a nice cam for a stroked motor.

I actually think that cam would fit better with stock heads than custom heads. Stock heads usually have smaller valves & less deck height than aftermarket heads. That means that you can usually fit bigger cams without flycutting on stock heads.

A ported head is usually going to be milled & that puts your valves closer to the pistons & a ported head usually has bigger valves. Bigger valves & less deck height = less P to V clearance.

The answer is that cam has a better chance of fitting a stock head than a ported milled head.

Well we are having a debate of whether or not he has a 383 stroked motor. i guess i shoudl have put that in my first post. Thats true that it will clear better then it would with milled heads. Ill edit my first post.

couldn't he have stock heads/bottom end and flycut the pistons even if that cam was a little too big?

only one way to find out, do a tear down ... otherwise just take his word for it

just curious, what's the difference if he does have a 383 or not?

A stroker motor wouldn't make a difference either. If he is using flat top piston's with no valve relief's & the Quench area was setup the same as stock, P to V clearance would be the same with a 346 & a 383.
