Question Rear end gear change resources

I have some noise coming out of my rear end. I had the rear wheel bearings changed, but the noise is still there. I'm pretty sure the differential bearings need replaced. I am thinking of replacing the differential brearings myself and upgrading to some 3.73's while I'm at it.

The GM repair manual isn't much help and refers to some pretty obscure tools by names like J-1410. I don't have a J-1410 nor do I think the local hardware shop will have a "J-1410" either. There are about 20 J-xxxx tools in all that the manual refers to.

Does anybody know of a good book or resouce on the web that goes through the process of changing the pinion/ring gears as well as the bearings and seals?
