Default getting gears installed..?.

ive got 3.73s sitting next to me, but i dont have a differential yet. i went to the dealer today just to price around and he told me it would be around 4-500 to install the ring and pinion, and then another few hundred to install the differential. somewhere around 600$... no way do i want to attempt this myself. should i just buy a rear end with LSD and 3.42's and sell the 3.73s, cuz i really only have like 1,000$ to work with here, and i still want a catback and maybe save up for wheels.. what should ido

Installing the diff should cost no more than the gears. It can actually be easier since you dont need to remove the old ring gear and carrier bearings(unless ou need to remove the exciter ring). $300-400 is about average.

$125- I wont even do them in my garage that cheap, that has to be a friend or special hook-up.

I have a sereie 3 dif that is my last one it has low miles on it maby 6000 or less. I will sell it for 120.00 and shipping. the putting it in should not be real high cost, the dif is useally big money to buy, the install should be lower cost.
