You'd get more responses by posting in the "LS1-LS6 Internal Engine" section (where a post like this actually belongs, btw) alone rather than posting it in all these forums together. A 408" iron block is a popular swap right now, there are 10-20 of them around currently, most notable of which are Vince (555/520 in a C5), and Mike K (539/478 in a Z28). Many dynos can be found in the "Dynamometer Results & Comparisons" section. I see the search is down right now, search for "408" as soon as its back up, you'll get 100s of threads about this combo, many results, advice, and information.
Good luck, Shawn

thanks Shawn!
I actually did a search in the Internals section a day ago but keywords were getting me knowhere. Now that I know the 408 is the iron block (.030 with a 4" crank) I can search again.
Appreciate the info.
btw I'm getting veried responce from different regions. I sort of wanted the regional regulars to see the question and chime in! By reading the Texas and Southern sections, I've learned much different stuff than commonly posted in my Eastern area. It's a much broader learning pool
