Default Cutout?

I have a 3.5 inch mufflex exhaust with the single outlet. Will I gain anything from installing a cutout.

it did help the top end. i gained 1 mph. but, at the same time, i lost .1 60ft. so, in the overall picture of things, all it did was change the curve. took some from bottom to give to the top. now, maybe if i had a converter to get past the first 3000 rpms, then i most likely would've seen the .1 gain.
