Ok, I bought this 02 z28 last week. When I tested it I heard a bit of a noise under heavy throttle but figure I have by law a 60 day warranty so no big deal I just find the problem within 60 days. I'm suspicious of the rear gears. I figure I'll pop the cover off and look for ring/pinion damage. I do want to be able to put it right back together. Can somebody tell me what I'll need to do to put it back together correctly? Is it worth putting the old fluid back in? Anything in particular I should do or look for? Thanks.
