Hey all,

Was coming home last night, after having fixed my leaky gas issues, and ran into what appeared to be a stockish Maroon Early 90's C4 (circle taillights, not a ZR1) on State road. well let me tell you I dont know what this guy had done to his car, but he left me like i was in reverse. We went side by side from about 40 I guess, and he jumped out and never looked back. At 110 I quit and he was 3-4 buslengths ahead and still going!!!!! Man that thing was FAST!!!

So if you're around Bensalem, watch out! this thing is a killer! I wish I coulda talked to the guy but he disappeared round that bend after McElroy's and I didnt see him again. probably took tennis ave or something...

How fast are those C4 stock?

Depends. Round tail lights suggests L98 (1980's). 14's stock I would guess.

From mid 13s to high 14s...it all depends on what year (L98 or LT1 for non-ZR1), what tranny, coupe or convertable...etc

LT1: Mid to high 13s @101-104 (Fastest Stock I know of 13.2@107 Vette 09/92)

L98: Mid to Low 14s @95-100 (Fastest Stock I know of 13.9@100 MT 01/91)

we started just north of the street road intersection on state road, and I shut down just before the first bend close to station ave. dunno how he took those curves, no brakes or nothin. was also surprised there was no truck/semi traffic!!

EDIT: race was going south on state. it was awesome too cause usuaally i get really stupid races round here but this guy was FLYING.

i have stock fog lights.....there is another black z in the area with the corvette lettering in red on the bumper and front license plate cover.....

we should meet up sometime and run em.. or just check out each others rides.

yeah man sounds good, though with your Z itd probably be more like you running and me pretending I can catch up your S2k looks pretty mean too man. hey you ought to come out to NE Lincoln Mercury night in April. maybe we can get a cadre of LS1techers out there and get some beerage on.

I havent seen the red lettered vette but the guy I was describing, he's got a black C5 Z06 but has LED red foglights, they look pretty badass man. anyway see you round. ill keep an eye out for ya

I could see a 96 LT4 Vette Beating him, but not running a train on his *** like described. Plus from the description of the perpetrator, sounds like an L98 on the sauce

You guys, stop fixating as to what it coulda been. It was obviously a monster C4 with something up its sleeve. An LT4, though strong, as mentioned above, would not walk buslengths on an ls1. Buslengths=major power advantage, either big bore on spray, stock cubes on FI or an engine swap was likely the case (well, here I am, trying to decide what it coulda been, lol).

That happend to me once. I could usually hang with any car that trapped in the low 120's in my old car so I didn't worry about much. Well a middle aged guy with a nice looking C4 observed me putting a beating on a supercharged LT1 and stopped to see what was going on after. So we decide to line them up and he put buss thengths on me also. It was ugly. It turned out that he had a blown 396 that turned 140 in the quarter. I got owned. Total sleeper. Super nice guy though. Turned out he owned the local Chevy dealer ship and that was his solo 1 car. He also had a TT stroked C5 that was his "fast car".

I dont know if it was an L98 or not. She actually didnt run very loud, I was surprised. Metaphorically speaking, while my engine and magnaflow were screaming, the vette was just kind of laughing as it ran away. Nor was there any telltale whine or FI that I could hear. (granted we were only side by side for but a second) So I am thinking maybe some kind of big cube N/A motor? Or he coulda been spraying, I dunno. either way, definetely a guy (or girl ) that I hope I run into again, especially after an NX kit and possibly a cam soon.

EDIT: changed the wink after 'girl' to a drool. lol

I didn't mean a *STOCK* LT4, yes obviously a stock one wouldn't wipe the floor. I was just tossing out suggestions.
