Default Diagnosing a bad lifter (Comp R)....need advice

We have a GTO we built for a customer and all is coming a long well with the build. Then today when I fired it up to put a wideband to it to check before driving it to break it in, and it has a pretty healthy tap tap tap from the top end area. It gets faster as you rev the motor, and it is quite loud. The T-trim and exhaust are loud, but you can hear this tap pretty solidly standing over the motor at idle. It sounds like its coming from strait under the intake. Anywho, just looking for opinions. Thanks guys.

Well the easiest first step would be to bring each cyl to tdc and check preload on the pushrods at the valve cover. If you got a collasped lifter you should be able to find it there. Hopefully it would be something "simple" like a loose rocker arm.
