Default welding to the frame

Are there any special things I have to consider when MIG welding to the frame? I will disconnect the battery, clean up the areas to be welded, etc, but is there anything else that has to be done? I need to weld some support brackets. Im assuming that MIG flux cored wire would be best to get the most penetration.
Thanks

Whoa, welding with a fire suit on? Smart dude.

I've had my car welded on (exhaust) while it was running. Didn't seem to matter.

just get the car high enough a mig weld when welding up will tend to hang a bit due to gravity.
