Project done and first TNT results
As most of you read in the winter projects thread back in December, I tore the car apart for a dash revamping that was supposed to take a few months at worst, but ended up getting finished this past weekend.
I was lucky enough to dyno-tune the car just before heading out to the track last night (big thanks to Jason and Kevin at Rollins Auto for helping me out at the last minute). We made a 1st pull, and the car was breaking up bad after 6 grand. I found the spark plugs were a little crappy-looking after only a year of service. Went from a 345 rwhp start with the crappy plugs, and after a little tuning and a new set of NGK's I found 377 rwhp on the 4th pull.
I finally got to the track for a little testing so I wasn't too rusty for the upcoming PRO-Edelbrock NMCA street race series opener race at Bradenton I'm planning to run this weekend. Well, the 1st TNT of the year at Gainesville Raceway is always packed, and this race was no exception.
Got in tech line at 6:45 pm, first pass I made was at 9 pm! And just before I ran, I found out they had no way of printing time slips! Unless you were lucky enough to have a friend watch the scoreboards or make their way to the tower to write down your run info, otherwise you got no info except your reaction time posted as you made your pass!
I made 2 runs by 10 pm and called it a night.
.022 reaction time; 11.491 @ 115.40 mph on 1st pass
.003 reaction time; 11.493 @ 115.72 mph on 2nd pass
I'll have a new album up soon with pictures of the project from start to finish on my webshots page.
I'm heading south tomorrow morning, everyone have a good weekend of racing!
