Engine overheating
I have a 1999 LS1 that will get up to 210 degrees and keep rising to the overheating mark. The only thing that boggles my mind is that there is a brand new thunder racing 160 degree thermostat so it should run cool. Another thing is that the heater is not getting hot and the heater hoses are not warm at all. The upper radiator hose and radiator are getting hot, but not the lower hose. Do I have a water pump out of this thing?? If so, what brand do you all recommend replacing it with? Please help!!

I guess I never did that because I am not sure how too. What are the steps in doing so?? I topped off the coolant and let it run to operating temp. Thanks for the help!!

One more thing to think about... I now know of two f-bodies that have had problems with water pump gaskets... mine and trackbird's. Apparently GM now has a new design that prevents the rubber seals from separating from the metal gasket which is what happened to me.
