Is this normal I just but a 9 inch in my car with 4.11 gears. The drive shaft has almost half a rotation of play in it before the rear moves and when i engage or disengage the clutch i am getting a clanking from the rear

I just went over this with another member, and Detroit says that in considered normal. They even mention it in their instructions. They say I think 1/8th to 1/4 turn.
