Default buying used gears?smart move or plain stupid?

guys is it stupid to buy used gears. they are used 3.73. curious if they usually stay strong over time or do they warp over time. any info would be nice

The main issue is getting them set-up exactly the way they were before. Otherwise they will be noisy. As long as they dont have any rust pitts in them they would be fine if you could set them up.
