Oil Pressure and ticking???
Anyway just more of a stab in the dark here. I noticed a lot of oil pressure issues happeneing on the forum recently. And I just did a head and cam swap and now have the infamous sewing machine. (AFR 205 withe Comp Cams XER-273 224/230 581/592 on 114LSA @112 center). Everyone says just nature of the beast but it bugs me.
So here my thought, what are the chances that it is the cam thrust plate. Since there is a seal on there for the oil galley. And you never see anywhere about replacing it? Think there is any connection?

There is a difference between the typical noisey valvetrain (sewing machine) and the infamous ticking associated with the oil pump O-ring being pinched or seated incorrectly.

Well my ticking is in the exhaust, or most noticable under the car especially while being betweent the headers. If you have the hood open and stnading in front all you here is the injectors. Engine sounds stock except for the lope and the shimmy and shaking
