Tranny making funny noises.... please help! My transmission started whining yesterday. It almost sounds like the whine you get from a blower and it only happens when the transmission is in gear. The noise goes away in Park and Neutral. The fluid level is good, that was the first thing I checked. The transmission is a stock 4l60e with a TCS 4200 converter. The car just went over 40k on the odometer. Any ideas?

It could also be the converter if all of the gears are still there.
It might also be the sunshell, it is the most common falure we see at our shop for this transmission.
