Funny noise from exhaust after spark plug change (sound clip)
I changed my spark plugs last weekend and now there is a popping noise coming from my exhaust. Right after the change I got a trouble code for a misfire on Cylinder #1 but after pulling that plug out and putting it back in the code stopped. The #1 spark plug didn't want to go in all the way, I even had my boyfriend try and he said it feels like it might be cross threaded.
Somebody told me the popping noise means it's misfiring but if it was misfiring wouldn't I still be getting that code?
Here's a sound clip... http://www.blackout-studios.com/exhaust1.mp3

We weren't able to get the #1 spark plug in all of the way. I was planning on taking it to the shop today and having my mechanic look at it but I thought I'd ask about it here first.
If it was misfiring would performance be affected?
Thanks for your help.

The sound on the clip (popping noise) might be the plug not fully in and the compression blowing by the plug.
