Default Clutch

My buddy has a 98 Z28 (LS1) and his clutch just went. He's wondering if there is anything out there better performance wise and longer lasting? I have an auto, so this is for you manual guys out there, I'm not familiar with this subject.

It depends. There is no unanimity on the issue. Do a search. You can spend a day reading the different opinions here. Right now it seems like some people are having an orgasm over the Textralia setup. Seems like a lot of money for GM parts with a modified disc. Read and ask questions.

it all depends on what he wants to do with his car... bolt ons only? cam? cam/heads? nitrous? turbo/blower? Also depends on whether or not its a daily driver, weekend only type car, lots of drag racing, road racing, etc.

Once we know more about what his plans are for the car and what the car is like now, then we can be more of a help.
