I run TR55s, and plan to try a set of TR6s to see if the cooler temp helps any. I've seen charts showing the Denso Iridiums are "the best plug" becuase the have the lowest misfire rate of any plug on the market. (so you get less knock) But I tried a set when I was having some KR issues, acutally 2 - they came stock in my car, and still had knock. So at 1/4 the price, I now run the NGKs.....

I installed NGK TR55 plugs about 200 miles ago and have been happy with the performance so far. I'd stay away from the platinum plugs and replace the origonal platinums with either standard plugs (aka the TR55's) or an iridium plug. The platinum doesn't seem to hold up well under WOT conditions.
If changing spark plugs is a fate worse than death for you, get the iridium. I had these on my 97 LT1 and was happy with them. If you don't mind changing plugs every 30K miles, the best bet is the "normal" NGK TR55's. A spark plug change can be accomplished with the right tools in about an hour on a LS1. This is my suggestion
BTW, the NGK TR55's are WAY CHEAPER than the AC Delco factory Platinum plugs. I got all 8 plugs for under $20.

The stock plugs are some other type of Denso plug, I believe they are some type of platinum plugs.
I know this because my SS and 5.3 Silverado came with some Denso plugs, and when I compared them to the new iridium plugs, they had a different tip and the stock ones do not say "iridium" around the plug either.

Aussie Spark Plugs?
G'Day,
First post fellas so be kind to a boy from OZ!
NGK TR55's seem to get a good report, but I am not sure if they have an equivilent here. A lot of the 1/4 mile boys use NGK BPR6EF??
Anyone know if this is a similar plug?
Cheers,
Hogs,
