Default Are installing stick 5.3 liter heads worth it?

I am installing an LS6 intake, and a comp cam part# 54-408-11 this weekend, and was wondering if a pair of stock 5.3 liter heads would be a good choice to put on now until I can afford different ones. I can buy a set complete for $250.00 with only 5000 miles on them. I am looking for low end torque that is why the cam is from 800-5800 RPM. Also, if it is not worth it, what kind of heads should I be looking at in the future for this application??

Don't put them on unless you are going to put bigger valves and port them out. The smaller valve won't flow as much stock for stock with the 5.7 heads. You could pick them up and get the port work done down the road when cash permits.

from the numbers I saw the stock 5.3s flow the same as stock 5.7s although the smaller valves will not allow for extra flow if you port them and do not increase valve size.
