Default used cam question

I've been looking at buyin a cam from somebody on this board but i have a question. Is there any reason for me to be concerned w/ buying a used cam? It just seems to me that it's ovisiously had to have "wear and tear" on it but how much on a cam is too much. Is it something i can have fixed like new or am i reading too much into it. Just curious cuzz if i can save on a used one more money can go somewhere else...thanks everyone

there's nothing wrong with buying a used cam, there hydraulic roller so wear is pretty minimal.

what you need to do is make sure the cam is what its being advertised as; ask for any defining engravings, numbers, codes, ect and ask for a cam card.

Yeah, don't worry about it. If there's a problem with the cam, it will be pretty obvious (scratching, uneven lobe height, etc.). But, when operated normally, roller cams don't wear much - the effect would be negligible and not worth thinking about.

no problem. just heed my advice and ask for anything definitive identifying marks on the cam to make sure what you pay for is what your getting. i've seen people get taken buying used cams that just take the sellers word and end up having issues.
