Default Aluminum or billet steel flywheel?

Clutch sounds like its ready to fall apart, standing outside the car is sounds like a coffee can full of nails rolling under the car. Going to be needing one and unless I hear back from that textralia place its going to be a spec 3. What are the advantages of an aluminum flywheel as opposed to billet steel? I can imagine one is lighter but how does thet effect things? Aluminum is not really that strong.. OR is a RAM 9** series better?
