Default Heads/Cam ZO6 Vs S/C WS6

My buddy just got his heads/cam zo6 tune and put down 415rwhp and 375tq...My car puts down 470rwhp and 450tq...He is coming into town this week to get a few races off...Pulled him pretty good when he was stock...I rode in the car before the tune..Those damn things are so light...He is on a 315 nitto and i'm on a 275 nitto..Driver skills are in my favor...What do you guys think the out come will be????

unless you cant shift or you blow up your engine then i see no reason why you should lose. however, nothing says that a small hidden 75 shot on the z wont make u sweat..

from a dig or a roll? i bet from a roll u will jump out in front and he will slowly reel you in by like 140-150. maybe i am way off. but i know it doesnt take much to make those zo6's scream.

i dont know if you can go by this or not but the z06 is roughly 3315 with a 200lb driver making 415 gives him a 7.98 power to weight ratio. i used 3700 with you in your ws6 and 470rwhp gives you a 7.87 power to weight ratio. looks like its going to be a close race.

We are going to do both races...from a dig and roll...All in fun..maybe i'll get a video camera and get it on tape...I think 1st and 2nd i'll get him by a few cars then 3rd-4th he will remain the same or gain a little...We will see

those are some shitty #'s for a heads cam ZO6, wont they do nearly that with full bolt on's?

yeah i was thinking the same thing with the heads cam z06. did he go conservative with the cam or something? full boltons? numbers just seem allittle low.

sounds like a mustage dyno to me. Either way, if you can drive he will not stay with you. Yes he is lighter, but your torque alone will take care of him no problems. NOw, if he where sitting near 450 rwhp, thats totally difrnt, you would defntly be seeing his tail lights somewhr in 3rd gear or so.

i'd say those numbers are not really what he's putting down, especially with a tune. he's sandbaggin' it.

sounds like he is sandbaggin you, with those mods he should be well over those numbers. I would be pissed spending money on afrs, big cam, plus tuning and only get 415rwhp.

with those heads and that cam he should have way more than 415 if he has the supporting mods. something is not right. there was a post that i believe LG motorsports installed the afr 205s on a 100% bone stock z06 and made 400rwhp (40rwhp gain).

here it is. i was a little off. https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...=afr+stock+z06

Sounds about right...most DYNO #s are inflated . 415 on a conservative DYNO is what I see Zs make with same combo. 430 on another. Who knows the true #s, Z can be expected to run high 11s on radials with those mods! Put a pulley, mill the heads, 90mm intake, T-body, injectors, ele water pump and retune will yield 470-480RWHP= Tony's car @AFR. You really need the whole package to achieve the big #s.

running high 11's in a head/cam zo6 is pretty conservative, i'd put it more low 11's with traction. if he really is putting down those numbers i'd be searching for a bottle neck somewhere in there.

I think from a dig u'll get him off by a car or two, but from a high roll, he'll catch up to you at higher speeds just like somebody else pointed out. So just race till about 130 if you wanna be safe in my opinion.
