th350 swap problems
im using a 2004 6.0L
motor was pulled from a truck with a 4L80, so the crank spacer is already attached.
its behind the flywheel, which id assume was correct, tho i have seen pics where people put it on in front of the flywheel. guess that depends on what flywheel you use?
my problem is the converter has no ajustment when the bellhousing is bolted to the block.
it bottoms out on the front pump. no room at all to slide the converter back and forth between the tranny and flexplate.
the only thing i can think of is running a 1/8 spacer between the bellhousing and the block, similar to a BOP adapter.
im lost.
i can snug all the bellhousing bolts with my fingers, and the converter will still spin freely. one touch with a ratchet and the converter bottoms out on the crank spacer and the front pump and wont turn.
any suggestions?

are you using a regular SBC TH350 converter or one made for an LS1?
Is the converter hitting on the flexplate where the pads bolt on or is it hitting the spacer on the crank?
You will probably have to get an LS1 flexplate and put the flexplate between the converter and spacer if you are using a regular SBC converter thats how I had to do my old TH350. So it will be crank-->flexplate--->spacer. I'm not really sure if the 6.0 flexplate with the spacer is the same as the LS1 flexplate. Just so happens I hve a Hughes SFI LS1 flexplate for sale cheap if you need one
Here is a pic of of a 98 LS1 flexplate and spacer from my old 2000 SS with a TH350, you can see if yours looks the same, the washers that are welded on the flexplate are not stock.

the converter is not hitting the pads, it slides in the spacer, and against the flywheels perfect. only problem is once its all bolted down, there is no movement of the converter. after messing with it some more, i think the only way out is to add a bellhousing spacer between the trany and block for front pump clearance.
