Question Cam and sniffer

I'm currently living in NYC, but maybe returning to the UK at some point.
My next C5 will probably be modded, but I need to make sure that whatever cam it has in it will pass UK emissions regs. These are:

Max HC @ 2,000rpm = 200ppm
Max CO @ 2,000rpm = 0.3%
Max CO @ Idle = 0.5%

Can anyone translate these numbers into approx. cam specs?

I'm thinking that anything with an exhaust duration up to ~230 on a 112LSA should be OK. What do you think?

Cheers,
Ian.

I have no idea how to get those numbers. Do you know how they compare to tests in the states? I'd venture a guess that a 230 duration on a 112 will not pass. Around here people never seem to go larger than 224 on a 112. Any larger and you get positive overlap which is a big detriment to emisisons.

I believe the the CA sniffer limit for HC is 50ppm. I think the CO limit is around 1.0%.

My thinking is that an aftermarket cam is gonna impact HC more than CO. 200ppm is 4x the CA limit, so that means I should be able to get away with something fairly aggressive(?). Don't know if the UK regs match closely with some other state here in the US?

Cheers,
Ian.
