Z28 vert vs. Carrera vert
A friend of mine's dad has a yellow carrera convertible, and every once in a while he gets to drive it. We were going down the road and got stopped at a light, and he guns it,and his door is at my front end when I hit the gas. I pull on him pretty substantially and he hits the brakes before i completely catch him. The next light we're lined up again and the light turns green. I give it a little too much gas and my car goes sideways a little, and so does he. I get traction and just keep pulling past him. At about 70 or so he hits the brake, at which time my car is completely ahead of his by about a car length. We park a little later and I was like dude, i owned you. He goes through several excuses like "oh i was shifting at 5k not 9k" (the car redlines at 7) "i wasnt racing" and all that bs. keep in mind that ever since i've had my car he has refused to race me until this one great opportunity, and i doubt he will again.

Exactly. Pre-997 Carreras (no Turbo, S, GT2, etc, just basic Carreras) run about what stock LT1's run. 993's ('95-'97) ran low 14's/high 13's, and 996's ('98-'04) run about mid 13's.
