Default Reluctor Ring

I spoke to a tech guy from SLP about this Reluctor Ring.I may need it or not, when I change my gear ratio to 3.73 for my 02 Camaro SS.This ring is only needed when changing from a 2 series carrier. The tech guy from SLP mention that if its a 3 series carrier,i dont need this reluctor ring.Which one of the two series is for my 02 Camaro SS.

I assume you have a 3 Channel ABS. There is a reluctor ring on the differential. If you have 2.73's, you have a 2 series differential. If you have 3.23's, you have a 3 series differential. When going from 2 series gears to 3 series gears, you need the 3 series differential. The reluctor ring is on the differential and should be able to reinstall it on to the new differential. If not, they are ~$18. Another option is getting 2 series 3.73's and use your stock differential. Strange Engineering makes these gears.
