Default Oil pump shimming??

How much do you shim them to raise oil pressure 10-20 lbs? Is there a shim sold by a vendor? I couldn't find anthing with a search.

do you put the shim behind the spring for the valve?
would this increase the pressure at all rpms or just increase it on low rpms, is this a common thing to do with the "ported" oil pumps

Yes, you put it behind the spring (shim then spring then allen bolt) and it will increase the pressure at all levels.

so if you just buy a stock LS6 oil pump, you can add a shim to increase its pressure in all rpm ranges, why dosent everyone do this?

would adding a shim cause any neg. effects? does the valve just regulate/release pressure
