Use your steering wheel controls w/o infrared Peripheral Electronics, the world leader in OEM integration announced the release of the PESWIPS universal steering wheel interface for Pioneer and Sony radios. The PESWIPS interface allows the retention of OEM steering wheel controls when replacing the factory radio with a Pioneer or Sony unit that is wired remote capable.
There is a part available for Alpines too...

Finally!! No more infrared eyes to stick on. In the Pioneer line I think the DEH2700 and up has rthe hard wired remote out...
