Default Oil ring problem??

Well I just got a forged 347 built. I installed a new LS6 ported oil pump and when I start the car the pressure is fine then it slow drops down as the oil gets hot. I called the builder and they said more than likely it was a pinched oil ring which about the same thing I read here. What my question is I took off the water pump, pulley, front cover to change the oil ring. What I ran into was there isnt enough clearance between the oil pan and the pick up tube to unbolt it from the oil pump. Is there anyway in hell to avoid dropping the oil pan to unbolt the pick up tube to change the oil ring?? If there is help would be greatly appreciated!!

Default

You have to drop the pan at least an inch to do it. Dont drop the bolt in the pan.
