what do you think of this engine
what do you guys think of this big block im putting together. Havent bought anything yet just getting ready to buy it and want to make sure it will all be good.
489 ci 4.28x4.25
Studded 2 bolt main
11.8:1 pistons w/119 cc heads
Brodix race rite oval port heads
moroso 6 qt oil pan
Victor Jr intake
850 mighty demon carb
comp street solid roller 248*/254* .653"/.660" 110* lobe sep. rpm range 3000-7000
2" primary headers
will a cast steel crank(scat 9000) be good for this engine or will i need forged?
How much power you think it will make with a good tune?
Im putting it in a 4200lb 88 1/2 ton pick up with about a 3200 stall and 4.10 gears hoping to go high 11's. low 12's should be easy.
Thanks for any advice

If it doesn't run in the 11s something is wrong. Plus I doubt it'll run on pump gas unless you run a lot less timing.
A buddy of mine has a 496 10:5 engine with about the same cam #s, an old-school single plane edelbrock, a 950 hp carb, 2 primary hooker headers with full 3" exhaust with tailpipes, a 3800 stall 10 JW convertor and 3.73 gears in a 3400 lb nova running 10.30s at 128 mph on pump gas. Made about 470 rwhp.
Cast crank will be pushed at those limits, I'd go forged but just my $.02
Hope it works out well!
