Default Clutch pedal all the way down is this normal?

Hey just a question. Doing A4 to M6 swap, and I have the pedals in, master cylinder installed, but not the transmission or slave yet. On the clutch pedal, with pedals out of car, there is a type of spring, and when you push the pedal in, it locks the clutch to the floor. I always thought it would be the opposite where it pushes the pedal up. Also, now that pedals are in, and master cylinder is attached, the clutch pedal is all the way down. Will it push back up when I put hydraulic fluid in and attach slave cylinder and stuff?

When everything is hooked up, the pressure plate will push back on the slave forcing the pedal back up.

The pressure plate will Put the reverse force on the slave, and that pedal should come right up.
