i have an 81 camaro with some power behind it and it has a 4 speed saginaw. i was just wondering what would happen if it blew up, it grinds gears whenever it wants, and wont downshift ever. it also makes noises under heavy acceleration, like it has washers rattling around inside it. its great. i dont care about it at all, i just wouldnt want it to blow up and hit me in the leg or something. also im not in the mood to change it, so im waiting till it doesent go into gear aymore or blows up internally. it has lasted a year now so im pretty confident in it. it has several passes on it launching at 5k rpm on slicks. and never did a thing. for a week once when i shifted into 2nd full throttle it would just neutral, and 4th one day just would go in and sound like it was hanging there like a slight grind ckkkkkkk noise and it would also still be in neutral. i relize this is a retarted post and any of you would just replace it, but it has soul.. haha. my m22 rock crusher blew up after like a week and one hard launch. does anyone think a trans blanket would help just in case>? if it blew do you think it would make it through the floor?
