Default Mcleod master questions...pedal feel ,etc.

How much increase in pedal pressure is normal with the mcleod master. I have cartech clutch. Its quite a bit higher than stock.

Second think have clutch bled decently and can get into all my gears and just took car for a test drive but it seemed car was slow or something. Is it possible to go into gear but still not release 100% .I am trying to bleed it a bit more using mitvac in reservoir not using the regular bleeder. Also wondering if I keep getting air bubbles would not having the slave bleeder closed tight enough let air back into the system?

Also can you reduce pedal pressure by moving the mcleod rod in. I have it out all the way as read post where you just put the rod over the clutch pedal with it all the way out. Supposed this is where it works best.

I am getting so annoyed with all this aftermarket clutch stuff and almost tempted to throw in z06 but my power goals are much too high for one.

Curious if the new c6 z06 will use a compatible clutch but doubt it as its for vette not f body right?

Other options kicking around are clutchmaster or textralia anything that dont need ajustable master.!!! I am having bad luck with adjustable master systems.

I took apart my master and bought a rebuild kit but when dissected it only the cup on top of the spring might have looked very very slightly funny. I didn't really see any casting flash in the bore Should have maybe honed it anyway but didn't.

I also put worm clamps on the line between master and reservoir as had zip ties and think they were slipping off or not tight enough. I should have also checked o ring on stainless line into master but think put one in there.

I also think possibly slave bleeder is not totally tight but don't seem to be losing any fluid from reservoir or on the ground so not sure about the bleeder not being totally closed argument. That bleeder is such a pain any more trouble with it and going to drill the hole in the floor to get it from on top.!!!

I will see how much air is in there tommorrow and if my gears get weird and hard to get into.
As said they are going in ok tonite but still think the clutch is not grabbing hard on release and not sure if air can cause that.

I've had nothing but problems with the McCleod master. Had two of them and rebuilt both of them. Both were junk no matter how you look at it. If I were you, I would take that McCleod out and deposit it into the nearest bottomless hole and forget that you ever wasted money on it. After that, call Futral Motorsports and get one of Allan's setups. It's a stock master made adjustable. You won't have problems with it.

I have a Spec stage III in my car and the clutch works fine but my master is fried. I was going to buy a mcleod but this post has made me chosen not to. I can't find the adjustable master on the futural site. Is it a call for item?

Increased pedal pressure is normal cause of the bigger bore. Personally I like my mcleod master but I haven't had it very long.

It may be possible that you need to adjust the rod in. If it was keeping the clutch slightly pressed in all the time that might cause it to slip making it feel slower. I'd be surprised if that's actually what was happening though.

Yes it is. Give Candy a call and she'll hook you up. The quality of the work is top notch on Allans master setup.
