Default Help: Intake Valve size on a 408 (is this too big)

Is a 2.10 intake valve too big for a 408 (4.030 bore) I thought 2.08's were the "norm" are there any disadvantages/possible problems to having a 2.10 over a 2.08?

Thanks in advance

disadvantages of any larger valve is going to be piston to valve clearance. You will most likely lose mid-lift numbers as well, but gain on the top end.

ok then let me also ask... whats more desirable on a 408 2.10's or a 2.08
my pistons (if im not mistaken) have a -2cc relief in them, and my intentions were to go with one of two cams: something like a 232/236 .61x/.61y lift on either a 114, or 115 lsa or MAYBE adding 2 degrees (to both sides) to the above mentioned cam. will i run into P/V problems with a 2.10 intake valve?

The difference in PTVC for a 2.08/2.1 is around .003". Pretty trivial really. The difference in flow will not be any different if the seat throat isnt ratioed up and blended to match the size of the larger valve. 2.08 is enough to get tons of flow provided the person doing the job is knowledgable.
